In his Ph.D research, supervised by Dr Julia Prest, Bram focuses on the French ballets (ballets de cour) given at the Renaissance court of the late Valois and early Bourbon monarchs. He is specifically interested in how the genre supported diplomatic negotiations across European cultures and languages, studying eyewitness accounts of British, French, German and Dutch envoys.
Bram has delivered co-authored papers about narrative comprehension in contemporary experimental theatre at several international conferences. He is a recipient of the 7th Century PhD Studentship.
