My research looks at the designed landscape and estate improvement in the last decades of the absolutist regime, and specifically how political and ideological views and aspirations were expressed through landscape aesthetics. My work focuses especially on the activities of certain Princes of the Blood — the duc de Chartres, the prince de Condé and the prince de Conti, as well as certain ducs et pairs — namely the duc de Choiseul-Stainville, the duc de La Rochefoucauld and the duc de La Rochefoucauld-Liancourt and the duc de Bethune-Charost.
