I am a graduate student at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, where my research focus is the political use of public and monumental art in Paris during the French Revolution. Currently, I am researching the history of the equestrian statue of Henri IV on the Pont Neuf. Fabricated by Giambologna in 1614 and destroyed by revolutionaries in 1789, this work reflects the politicized nature of many public artworks in France in the late eighteenth century.
