My research deals with the study of women’s work in eighteenth-century France, from the structural, cultural, and technological points of view. I have written about women in guilds, both all-female and mixed, and women’s work as ordinary laborers. As well, I am studying women merchants, and their links to the manufacture of the goods they sell. Large-scale industries with female workers are also of interest to me.
